Evidence from the Sunlance Pulse Accelerator suggests it to be a highly effective weapon, capable of utilizing great forces of energy more efficiently than a Railgun or RailCannon, but with some drawbacks of course. However, Pulse Accelerator technology, much like all technology, is only increasing in advancement, power, effectiveness, and convenience. With that being said, say hello to the “ShockBlitz”, a ‘shocking’ new development in Pulse Accelerator technology. (sorry)
The SunLance was our first stab at the rudimentary Pulse Accelerator concept. Thus, it lacks in experience, as do we with the technology. However, through our rigorous testing, we’ve vastly improved the Pulse Accelerator weapon, to a whole new level of strength. This Pulse Accelerator makes up in power and rate of fire, for what it lacks in looks. The SunLance is of course, a lot prettier looking, atleast in my humble opinion.
The ShockBlitz is a complete overhaul of the SunLance. It has a better fire rate, stronger impact force, and stronger incendiary properties, although some muzzle velocity had to be sacrificed for a stronger round. Instead of using an Iron Spike, it uses a Tungsten Spike. The much higher melting point requires much more energy to turn the metal into a plasmic rod, which dialed down the muzzle velocity slightly. But the damage is significantly higher, along with the impact force of the rod hitting the target. The ShockBlitz works on the same principles of the SunLance, just with different ammunition, which of course contributes to different strength and other properties. The higher rate of fire was unexpected, but it turned out that the structure of the gun itself definitely contributed to the rate of fire, which of course sounds obvious, but it didn’t seem it at first.
Controls: Yaw to rotate the turret, TRIM to elevate and depress the gun angle, FireGuns to fire. Yeah not much else to be said other than that the ShockBlitz, in contrary to the SunLance, is less effective at short range than long range.
The ShockBlitz’s use of Tungsten Spikes lead to much higher internal temperatures, so high that the gun would actually start to melt itself if used improperly. To combat this, we created an internal mechanism that allows the gun to “let off some steam” by opening up exhaust ports that lead to the internal ionization chamber, and allow excess heat to be released out of the inside in the form of jets of white-hot flames, significantly decreasing the amount of heat in the weapon.
Another unintended, but extremely incredible side effect of this Pulse Accelerator is partially what led to its name, ShockBlitz. “Blitz” is another word for Lightning, typically from German descent. To elaborate, when the ShockBlitz fires, the amount of brute force that the Tungsten rod has behind it is so enormous, that it actually generates electricity in the air. So much electricity in fact, that it’s essentially creating lightning.
Yes, you read that right. The muzzle blast of the ShockBlitz is not one of fire and unburnt propellant, nor of sparks and smoke, but rather, actual lightning that comes out of the barrel, hotter than the freakin’ sun. In some of our tests, we wanted to see if this lightning would have any effect on objects that it may or may not hit, so we placed the gun in an object-crowded environment, some objects conductive of electricity, some not. In almost every result, the lighting bolts that came out of the barrel would indeed travel to conductive objects, and promptly shock them as one would expect. For instance, a solid block of steel was one of the objects, and it got the most hits from the lightning out of any other object. Because of this, the ShockBlitz is to be mounted in an environment where it won’t encounter any conductors of electricity, as to prevent unintentional damage to the gun and it’s environment. However, if need be, the gun’s unintended lightning can be used intentionally, as a last minute resort in dire situations. If anything gets too close to the gun when it fires, as long as it has any form of electrical conductor on it, it’s sure to be annihilated in the blink of an eye. (for context, the SP version of the ShockBlitz won’t actually do anything to it’s user, but the guns that are used for the lightning effect have their damage value set to 1,000,000)
Anyway, I think enough has been said.
Have Fun!

Ngl this thing is kinda ugly looking
@Ilikeacecombat thinking about making a High Caliber Coilgun type weapon, apparently they’re more efficient than a Railgun and can have a near-limitless Muzzle Velocity
Ima yoink this cannon to make a funky trees auto cannon
@Nerfaddict well it is contained very securely, so in the rare event that something goes wrong, any mishaps are heavily contained inside the gun, and no external damage seeps out, making anything in the immediate vicinity 99.99% safe from potential shrapnel or other damaging means of destruction.

@Nerfaddict Whats a pulse accelerator?
@AWESOMENESS360 ok, so It heats up metal until It's a plasma.
not gonna lie, By my standards, It sounds a bit messy if it doesn't go well.

@AWESOMENESS360 ok, so a few things:
-I really like this idea
-how does a pulse accelerator work
