@Halfstrike No, I tried it out, it get's fully detached and then it can just wobble inside that box and sometimes it explodes while maneuvering. :D

I'm on about the size, even on the bis it still seems to big (ps he does this by fitting the missile to the fuselage and their is a detached attached to the front of the missile so it's released but still attached to the detacher) @BRuthless

@Halfstrike For most aircrafts yes, but as you can see on the picture, it clearly fits my MiG-21Bis! :D I've already tried the ones from the link on it and they work quite well, but explode sometimes and don't look very good.

It will still be bulky like 2X2 so until they can bring in smaller engines like separators in ksp then it will be to big@BRuthless

@Halfstrike I'll try making a smaller one with better shape with the smaller Inferno rockets. :)

The problem is it's as big as a blasto vtol@BRuthless

@Halfstrike It seems the trick is to keep the missile in a box like here :D

@Halfstrike Some guys managed to get the missiles to power on without launching them. You could stick one in there maybe. :)

Unfortunately you have to stick a vtol blast in their, if the dev scan make a small vtol blast like half the length then it will be better@BRuthless

@BRuthless yes, ik. Mine isn't for looks, it's for function. It does it's job and then you drop it

@AeroEngineering Underwing is even more unrealistic. I think we just have to wait until an engine with RATO inside comes out. Or try nudging two modded rockets into an engine somehow.
Here's one of the Dassault Mirage IIIS under the jet engine.

    And the LC-130 Hercules.

Never mind, this one here looks pretty much like the one I found on a picture of the MiG-21 RATO.

    Good job @Halfstrike ! :)

@BRuthless if you look at my airplanes I have a RATO unit designed to be mounted underwing if an aircraft ad droppable

It looks very huge. Couldn't it be smaller? It has to fit into the engine compartment of the MiG-21Bis. :/
