A-10C Thunderbolt II V2.1
Fairchild Republic A-10C Thunderbolt II
The A-10 Thunderbolt II was conceived to counter a Soviet armored offensive across the Fulda Gap had the cold war gone hot. While such a scenario fortunately never came to fruition, the A-10 would prove itself during the Gulf War and Operation Iraqi Freedom. The "Warthog" demonstrates impressive ground-attack capability through a variety of air to ground weapons and the GAU-8/A Avenger anti-tank rotary autocannon. The A-10 was also famed for its survivability; flight control redundancy, a titanium "bathtub," and the ability to land easily with gear retracted are only a few of the characteristics that allowed A-10's to bring back their pilots in one piece even if the aircraft wasn't. However, it is worth noting that the effectiveness of survivability through durability in modern combat is questionable. The C-variant implements avionics improvements and smart weapon and targeting pod compatibility.
All variants of the A-10 are used by the United States Air Force (USAF) and the USAF forbids international sale of the aircraft. And while there are discussions regarding the replacement of the A-10, as of 2017, A-10's are to be kept in inventory indefinitely. Read more...

Author's Notes
- The gun is aimed slightly downwards.
- When taking off, use full upwards VTOL and full flaps.
- Flaps required below 350 km/h.
- Non-centered nose gear causes plane to veer right while rolling. If you feel like the aircraft is losing control while braking, let go of the brakes and counter yaw. Below 130 km/h, you should be able to brake without worrying too much.
- Fuel and gun ammo is unlimited.
Weapons Changelog
- Flares: Count for attackers precedent set to 100. (50 standard)

As with MonsNotTheMonster, this aircraft consistently causes simpleplanes to crash whenever I attempt to fly it. I press the play button and after loading for a while, as well as crashing my YouTube picture in picture if I'm using it, simpleplanes crashes and restarts.
I don't know why, but it makes my game crash
@ShinyGemsBro Thanks
I've been wondering how to do that for so long
I know this is an old post and a late comment (and you may already know this), but you can set the
ignitionDelay
to0.01
to have a smokeless launch when you make JDAMs.I modified the bombs of my download to said
ignitionDelay
value and it now looked more like a legit JDAM drop without the exhaust trail.@TRD6932 Sure
Can I use this thing for formation flying practice? And potentially in a music video. Maybe.
@KnightOfRen okie dokie
Can I get tagged on all your builds as well?
Also BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRTTTTTTTTTTTTTT
@Diloph Sure, glad you like them and glad I can help. :)
Can I get Tagged on every upload? I enjoy these! It allowed me to see how you did it, so I can redo it but in a detailed manner, please, I want to be a default tagged player
@Hsnabsxiajdbshaj Go ahead
Hello, can I change him to formation?
@DeveloperKorzalerke I was more surprised by Gaijin adding this to War Thunder right I was about to finish it
I like the fact you started working on this immediately after posting a tank lol
me have request1!!1!
@Korzalerke 👍 done
@SoupTime9957 yeah only saw that now
note the comment was made a few hours after the release of the trailer and no one really knew what was going on lol
@ReinMcDeer for sure,
I've got a bad feeling about it too but if it makes people happy then whatever lol
@Kangy both are A variants but the premium is the early A variant and the tech tree version is the late A variant
@Kangy For some reason i got a bad feeling about this...
Should've realized Gaijin would monopolize off the most anticipated aircraft in the game ever. Fair play I guess. Ground RB will be crazy when the update drops.
It looks like it’ll be an A varient premium, and a C varient for the tech tree with potential block variants added later (because WT will evolve eventually.) @ReinMcDeer
@Kangy What a weird coincidence :l
I bet they're doing the A-variant tho
This build is so good they added it to war thunder.
It’s really f*ing simple I don’t recommend shooting at me because your little gun goes “pew pew” but my gun goes: BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
I like the simplicity of this aircraft. Really nice
