Auto Credit Based on Walvis's Medium Bomber Challenge [CLOSED]

Ok, here is my entry for the Medium Bomber Challenge!

I don't know about you, but when I think of meduim bombers, I tend to think of 1940's designs. The Ju-88, the B-26, the Vickers Wellington, the G4M and so on...

I still remember building my very first Airfix kit, as a 7 year old, several decades ago... It was none other than the "Widow Maker". The Martin B-26G Marauder. I had no idea what I was doing and got glue all over the place. It looked like crap and I was so proud of it.

Anyway - here is my entry;

The Curtiss - Wright B-27 Crusader

A fictional mish mash of design features from the B-26, the B-25, the G4M and god knows what else, which ended up looking very much like the B-26...

She has a cockpit, of sorts, (see Pilot and Co Pilot cameras). She has a bomb-aimer position, a nose gunner, a tail gunner and a turret gunner. She also carries 5000lbs or so of bombs in an internal bomb bay. Oh, and 4 20mm cannon in fixed forward firing positions for your strafing pleasure. I took the liberty of reducing the power of the cannons, so that you aren't putting holes through the USS Beast with one salvo...

She is quite easy to fly, with a good roll rate for a reasonably big twin and landing should be a dawdle with tricycle landing gear. She is also fairly trim neutral. One draw back is my standard feature of some very slight auto roll...

Flight instructions (as well as a take off primer) should pop on screen at start up. Just remember to open the bomb bay (AG3 BEFORE releasing the bombs (AG4). Oh, and keep her straight and level when bombing or you will probably get hang - ups.

Bombs away, gents!

    Yeah - I looked to the b-25, b-26 and the Mistubishi G4M as inspiration. @BittyJupiter360

    Thanks matey! Its an iPhone 8 that is on its last legs (the battery is currently telling me I need service). So a big improvement over the iPhone6 I used to build on. Hoping to get something a bit sexier soon, though…@Tang0five

    Damn good stuff regardless! Noticed you’re on iOS still - unless it’s a decrepit old device like my brick you should be able to get designer suite and replicas should be a doddle to do :) @GhostHTX

    First thing I thought when I saw this was the B-26 Marauder. I’m guessing you took heavy inspiration from the Marauder.

    Nice plane, it gave me motivation to build a bomber.

    You got me. The Marauder was the first thing I thought of when I read "medium bomber". I would have loved to have done one, too. But replicas are way above my skill level. @Tang0five
