This gyrocopter uses a spinning rotor instead of a fixed wing to produce lift. The engine for the rotor has been disabled, so you will need forward movement to get the rotor up to speed to produce lift. The VTOL slider on the left controls the collective for the rotor. For shorter takeoff use a little positive collective or it can be left neutral for simplicity. Once airborne, adjust the collective to achieve level flight. You will need a fair bit of runway to get the rotor up to speed, but once your rotor is up to speed, you can take off and land in a very short distance or even vertical. It is a fairly easy aircraft to fly, it sounds more complicated than it is.
