The Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-15 (DoD designation: Type 14; NATO reporting name: fagot) is a jet fighter that served in the soviet union and under many air forces such as the KPAAF and the PLAAF.
The MiG-15 was one of the first fighters that successfully used swept wings to achieve high speeds that outclassed several other straight wing fighters of the time

Design:

Based off of the rolls-royce nene engine, the RD-45 was the first soviet jet engine to see mass production and to test its capabilities, Mikoyan-Gurevich was ordered to build 2 prototypes for an advanced high Altitude interceptor.

The new design, I-310, had a 35° sweep in wings and tail, with 2 wing fences to improve airflow and 2 ducts which carried intske air around the cockpit and into the engine. It's first flight was 30th December, 1947.

Service:

The first MiG-15s saw combat at the end of the Chinese Civil War, in southern China. On August 19th, 1950 a ROCAF P-38 was shot down, in the first air victory of a MiG-15

MiG-15s mostly saw combat with the north Korean air force during the Korean War under the north Korean, Chinese air force and Soviet air force, although for many years the soviet union denied their involvement in the conflict.

The MiG-15 would also be used extensively by Warsaw pact countries such as Poland and east Germany

It's been a year since my first build on this site, I've come so far haven't I?
It's been 4 months since my last build but I promise I've been working on stuff (fictional fighter, A7E, B727, ov-10, OS2U). I got into guitar but I hurt my hand cuz I don't know how to play.
