R-6 eagle
Information about the R-6
The R-6 Eagle is a purpose-built racing glider, which, as the name suggests, is designed for the Eagle Pass racing challenge. The R-6 has no landing gear and a very sanitized cockpit layout to reduce drag as much as possible. The whole idea of the R-6 is to be heavy, fast, and slippery. Take a look at some of the features of this aircraft listed below.
Features
Fully VR compatible glass/analog racing cockpit
The R-6 has a simple yet useful cockpit layout that has a built in TC to help aid in efficient gliding. All glass screens can be switched off by touching them, or toggling the AUX PWR switch on the dash.
Speedy
The Eagle is heavy and fast. The extra weight helps increase the momentum of the aircraft and in turn maintains speed through the more shallow parts of the Eagle Pass race course.
The R-6 can achieve the steam achievement of "expert" for the Eagle Pass race.
It should also be noted that the Eagle also completely thrashes the "Gllidey" NPC by a large margin.
In conclusion
I hope you all enjoy flying the Eagle, be it in VR or otherwise. I learned a lot building this little plane, and had a lot of fun doing so. Feedback is always welcome and appreciated. My record down the Eagle Pass course is 3:05. Let me know if you beat it! Happy flying.
