The S-3 Chipmunk had been the company's sole piston, single-engine, closed cockpit, GA aircraft for years. However, over time, demand for better performance and the practicality of a second occupant paved the way for modernization. The S-11 became an instant hit and in order to supply the demand, the aircraft was offered in both factory-complete, and kit-build packages.
To date, the Dual Sport stands as one of the most popular aircraft ever designed by the company, with continued sales planned for years to come.
