The SNAMC really wanted a bigger caliber with also some fixes... they were inspired by a 20mm rifle, so they doubled the caliber, and made a 40mm which is a common launcher 'caliber'. They also did change some things on the gun! The caliber also relieved another 'name' the 40mm SNAMC
