Scharnhorst was the lead ship of a class of 2 battleships. she spent most of her war career with her sistership Gneisenau.Neer the end of the war Scharnhorst and Gneisenau were to meet up with The Tirpitz in Norway but due to heavy bombing Gneisenau couldnt make the trip. Scharnhorst spent the last of her days fighting in the Battle of North Cape where she was being heavily bombarded by the HMS Duke of York before being hit by 4 torpedoes where she finaly sunk.
