With the introduction of the Jumo 222 engine development of a project that would have a FW 190 powered by the Jumo 222, but the fighter had o be modified so much that it bore no resemblance to the FW-190 but instead resembled American P-39s and P-63s but the Jumo 222 was shelved but saw development again in late World War II and it did eventually power the FW-191
