Rising cost expences of the Star Fleet required the creation of a very small and very cheap starfighter that could fill the light defence role without breaking the bank. Being no bigger than it needed to be to work, meant that this ship was an extremely cheap fighter. The use of advanced VTOL technology also meant that it was surprisingly effective and actually quite graceful. Flies very well and is very easy to fly and hover.
