The Bell P-59 was a pioneering jet fighter that served briefly with the United States Army Air Forces.

Fictional lore

Five Airacomets was operated between 1943-1945 as an evaluation and jet training aircraft, mainly used by the 19th Air Force. (they also recieved the Clervie aircraft lineage first.)

In-game behaviour

— [Gen. App.] It is 11 meters long, and 4 meters tall, bit a quite big for a 1942 fighter. Propulsion is delivered by centrifugal turbojets.
— [Flight] The Airacomet is rather painful to fly, with a top speed of ~530 km/h TAS at 700-1,300 meters and takes a long time to climb.
— [Combat] Just like a standard issue piston engine fighter. 1 37 mm cannon and machine guns.
