Built by the Soviet Union in secret in 1959, the Tupolev Tu-995 "Taran" was a long range ICBM missile silo battering ram. The plane was cancelled shortly after the first few production runs as most crew memembers balked at the idea of guiding the plane towards an enemy missle silo and having to exit the plane via parachute before impact. Only one operational "Taran" is known to exist.
