A light bomber that was outdated by the middle of the war... Due to its slow nature this bomber was nicked named The Widow maker due to how many where shot down by N.U.W.AF. At the begining of the war the the Griffin was a close ground support plane that soon found its role as a torpedo bomber as well. These planes dominated the field as a close air support and was successful. It tore through tank lines and ships alike with its 6 250lb. Bombs and its four hispano cannons it was a bane on the battle feild... While they where fielded in flights of 50 or less depending on the mission as the war progressed the plane had only too few upgrades ...which did not last... (at the time) NUWC pursuit planes as they where fielding older war planes to catch them but by the the end of the newer upgraded fighter started to see a rise and Griffin casualties started to rise... At one point The imperial had almost decommissioned them but due to large scale bombings of their factories to few of their new front line bombers where coming off the line. By the first few months of the new fighters their were a stagering 586 Griffins where shot down. By the end of the war only a handful survived... Out of 1300 only less then 50 came out a third of that being either badly damaged or unfit to fly and was used as scraps... To fly 1) is bombay doors. 2)flaps. 3) wheel coverings (use gear tab) 4)back landing gear (use gear tab) 7) drop bombs.
