The Eole III also known as the "Avion III" or "l'Aquilon" was the third plane financed by the French Army and made by Clement Ader, a French engineer. This plane was created in 1897 before the Wright's flyer but it never really flew, only two witnesses confirmed a one hundred meters flight (328 ft). Sadly, we can presume that this little machine inspired by a bat will never be truly called an airplane.
