Supermarine Spitfire LF Mk IXe (Remake)

History

The Supermarine Spitfire Mk IX was one of the most produced Variants of the family. It was initially designed as a stop gap measure for the outclassed Mk Vs that was facing newer models of the Messerschmitt Bf 109s and the newly introduced Focke Wulf Fw 190.

To ease production time, Mk IXs were essentially retrofitted Mk Vs (that were then retrofitted from Mk Is and Mk IIs), the main selling point was the new Merlin 61 Engine. In the second half of 1943, a new Merlin 66 for Medium-Low Altitude was fitted on later Mk IXs which would make it become known as the LF Mk IX

Big thanks to Tonnkatu for helping me out with the Cockpit Canopy design

This build took rather long than i expected, though i did have my reasons (mainly a sudden workload in college, and other games' events, etc). But alas, the LF Mk IXe is made. You could also say this is a Remake of my old LF MK IXb i made something like 2-3 years ago :D
