During the year 1949 the Nation of BigHead required a fighter that could replace their World War II era prop planes, BigHead Engineering developed their first jet fighter based on the BX-4 hurricane body. So the BX-5 BigHead was created as a replacement. though the maneuverability was lacking the jet was put into service from 1954 to 1975.
