FMTV

The Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles is a series of Paternian trucks, designed and manufactured by Paternian Defense Industries as a common chassis for 2.5-ton and 5-ton trucks. The Paternian Armed Forces previously employed the Cedco M26 5-ton and M37 2.5-ton. While reliable, they were a dated design, and the Paternian military wanted something more modern.
The result was the FMTV. A cab-over-engine design, it was not much bigger than the M37, and boasted superior modularity and power. The 2.5-ton variant, known as the 2.5-ton 4x4 LMTV M1050 or Light Medium Tactical Vehicle, and the 5-ton variant, known as the 5-ton 6x6 MTV M1140, or Medium Tactical Vehicle, differ mainly in engine power and wheel arrangement.
A multitude of variants, such as semi-trailer, wrecker, van, and dump truck, would be made and accepted into service. In addition, the 5-ton M1140 would form the basis of the Gharial MRAP, the M148 HIMARS II, and the M1770 Howitzer. This particular model is a standard M1140 MTV cargo vehicle.
