Stielhandgrenate

13.6k JayDay60  8.1 years ago

The Model 24 Stielhandgranate (German, "stalk hand grenade") was the standard hand grenade of the German Army from World War I until the end of World War II. The very distinctive appearance led to it being called a "stick grenade", or a "potato masher" in British Army slang, and is today one of the most easily recognized infantry weapons of the 20th century.

@Himynameiswalrus Those were both pretty bad. They both had some successes and some failures, but they weren't the worst in history. I think probably the worst of all time would be the gas lines the British and French used in WWI. They would put tubes under a battlefield that had tiny openings, they seemed effective too. The problem was, the wind would blow and the gas would sweep over their own lines! XD

@Himynameiswalrus The Romans and the Russians kind of did the same thing....but with animals
The Romans had incendiary pigs, pigs they would bathe in oil and other flammable substances and lead into the enemies lines https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warpig
    The Russians had.....anti-tank dogs

@Himynameiswalrus yes i can just imagine the conversation the Germans had when the first tanks came out...

"Sir, there are these giant metal beast-like vehicles coming over our lines!"

"GO GET SOME DUCT TAPE AND EVERYTHING FROM OUR ARSENAL...."

Wow! Looks like it could belong in a museum display case, looks fantastic! You should add maybe like a board behind it that gives information or some other form of decoration, that would make it look even better. The Grenade looks fantastic, and the wood looks pretty realistic! Remarkable job! :D
