The sopwith triplane was a british single seat fighter aircraft during the First World War and manufactured by the Sopwith Aviation Company. It first took flight on 28th of May 1916 and joined the Royal Naval Air Service in early 1917. Only 147 were manufactured and it was replaced by the Sopwith Camel half a year later. The remaining tri planes were used as trainers until the end of the war.
