I dont really know if this is the first dragster using only one front wheel but i havnt seen any yet so guess it is ;) anyways 1 activates booster for jumps and hills, handles pretty good, the guns on the side are for ballance and stability, can survive the jump at gold prix pretty well

I'm currently trying to make a mad max version of the dragster and might use your idea of metal bars at the end as it gives it good stability
