I had a theory when birds, and other creatures fly, that when they flap specifically they blow air with their wings like a fan you hold in your hand and it worked. So I think my theory is correct.
This is how I got my flapping aircrafts/creations to have the right motion to fly.
However there's more motions to fan air than just like the motion of a paper fan or some other material you might fan. But this motion works.
This is only a theory though, and it may not be totally accurate since Simple Planes may or may not have physics that are completely like real life.

I believe airplanes and other aircrafts also blow air to create thrust but their turbines and or propellers are like fans on a ceiling. So you can see how planes and birds have similarities in how they fly. But I think airplanes actually are more like insects in the way they fly than like a bird.
