Thor P-1 heavy fighter
The Thor (Autumn Aircraft) P-1 is a high-wing twin-engined heavy fighter designed for a specification for a fighter powered by a Curtiss SGV-1800 'Super Conqueror' engine.
Development
The Materiel Division of the Air Force initiated a proposal for a fighter that will replace the Berliner-Joyce P-16 and to complement the upcoming Bell FM-1 in the heavy fighter role, powered by the Curtiss SGV-1800 inline vee engine, a derivative of the V-1570 Conqueror.
Under the proposal, the twin-fighter should not be large enough compared to a four-engined bomber (Boeing model 299) and should not have a wingspan of 20 meters.
The aircraft should be capable of multiple roles such as a day fighter, liaison, bomber escort, ground attack reconaissance.
All firms are ordered to design a prototype.
Design
The Thor P-1 is a twin-boom, three-tail high-wing fighter monoplane of all-metal construction.
Notes
I'm back from hiatus ~ so I'm refreshing my building skills and also, building cockpits. I'm tired dealing on yaw pedals, since it might not be necessary unless you want to make the plane taxi.
Also, in testing phase the aircraft can fly at 13,000 meters above sea level, ideal for photo-recon misions.
So in the lore the Thor design can be placed around 1934-1936. The SGV-1800 was tested on 1934 but canceled due to technical issues regarding to the engine.
