WW2 Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress

3,650 TheRubyArmy1134  8.9 years ago

The B-17 was manufactured by the US during ww2. When they first were deployed, the US thought they had so many defenses against the Luftwaffe that they didn't need bomber escorts. On their first deployement, so many were shot down that they decided to give them escorts to protect them. Then the B-17s went on to become an instrumental key in ww2. Of the 1.5 million tons of bombs dropped on Germany, 640000 tons were dropped from B-17s. Enjoy and check out my other planes!
