The Mountie Hunters would be one of the first squadrons to recieve the Phoenix, and spent most of their early missions with it on patrol and escort duty. Most of the combat they saw was interception of hostile bombers and would only get into dogfights in later variants of the aircraft.

@Rjenteissussy the PAL airlines logo has no gap in the middle and both triangles sit on the same level with each other, while VF-2 and this have the triangles more narrow at the back and a middle triangle in white without overlapping. I don’t see much of a resemblance other than red and blue triangles.
