RL-1 IIX '210
Been awhile
A quick recap for those who haven't seen the last one, The RL-1 is (In Lore) the first Repeating Laser (read below) based weapon in a hand held size.
The Repeating Laser:
The Repeating laser is a Directed Energy Weapons system that while not outright "invented" by D-45R6, they have popularised it's use.
The Repeating laser works by Sending a liquid into an Ionization chamber similar to how the gas injection in a car works. Once properly ionized, the now ionized (redundency) liquid get's accellerated down the barrel via alternating Magnetic fields and continues on via Toroidal and poloidal flow comparable to those air vortex cannons you can probably get at the dollar store for about two bucks.
Do note that unlike most sci fi's where laser based weapons simply cauterize whatever human they hit, The Repeating Laser subverts this by vaporizing (just by heat alone) any organic matter it's laser comes in contact with, and that that not outright evaporated is often heavily burned by any ambient heat.
The Repeating laser has a few advantages to normal projectile based weapons. To start, Most repeating laser based systems can often achieve much higher fire rates. For example, while most projectile based handheld rifles (assault rifles in this case) of the 23rd century have a fire rate ranging from 1800 rpm to as much as 2400 rpm, Repeating laser based rifles like the RL-1 can achieve fire rates around 6000 rpm.
On top of that, Repeating lasers often have higher penatrating "power" then their projectile cousins: the RL-1 For example has a penatration capability equivalent to a .50 cal every shot.
Now Repeating Laser's aren't without their downsides.
To start, they can get EXTREMELY hot as the individual laser bolts can make the sun look like an ice cube in comparison, so proper thermal insulation is not just a necessity, but an incentive.
And In the case of the RL-1, accuracy is a big problem. For example while Most 23rd century assault rifles have well below 0.05 Moa, the RL-1 Has an absolutely brutal 60+ MOA
Onto a more univeral issue: Properly powering such a power intensive weapon. For example, while the M4X1 (America's standard issue assault rifle of the 23rd century) has a solenoid driven bolt powered by a miniture 4S lipo (about 15v) stored within the grip, a weapon like the RL-1 requires a bare minimum of 500V just to power the magnetic accelerators: not even mains can produce that much.
To get around this issue, The RL-1 is powered by an array of six minaturized Arclight Generators (that's what the blue things on the E-20 Are, just bigger) each one the size of a throat lozenge. Combined, they can produce enought power to light up a city block. This however creates another issue in that this power system makes up 75% of the total cost of the weapon.
Sorry for that filibuster, onto specs now.

@cacatuazul sure
is it cool if i borrow some of the lore you used here to cook up a laser hmg?
Cool bullpup laser. I should also start a sci fi arms factory. I just need to make sounds and beams. If im actually gonna make it its secret for now
@Nerfaddict no its very realistic
@Xx24reminder it's just part of the lore I created
"M4X1:American 23rd century standard rifle" 💀
@AtlasMilitaryIndustries thanks
Your small arms look awesome!
