JR - JF4 Yuuyake specialised "Aisu" WVR variant.
Important - Deactivate AG 8 ON TAKEOFF AND LANDING
AND/OR TO FLY MANUALLY UNDER 1000m (3000ft).
This deactivates the crash prevention override that is set up for default use by an AI to prevent accidental loss when autonomously controlling the plane in AI based combat.
Lore
What goes up must come down. It's the Aisu's job to make sure that happens.
The Joint Republican Aviation JR JF4 Yuuyake "Aisu" is a subsidiary model of the Integrated 6/5th generation Generation JR JF4 Yuuyake line built for the Yukikitsunekuni Air Force. The air superiority domestic production fighter aircraft was built for outstanding combat performance in all conditions regardless of weather conditions or structural damage.
The Aisu is designed to be flown by the SP AI, where the maximum G force load has been increased out of necessity and therefore may require moderate skill to fly.
The Yuuyake is designed for air superiority and CAS in mind, the aircraft having a reduced weight to allow heavier missile payloads.
Bear in mind, however, that the Aisu variant is built specifically for the Dogfight Tournament, which prohibits the armament of missiles, so the bomb bays have been removed to save space.
The airframe concept has previous designations in older aircraft, most notably the JR JF4 Sakura and the Yuuyake Prototype.
A Yuuyake taking off from the deck of YKN Akari for aerial reconnaisance over contested territory
The Aisu was first built a response to the Dogfight Tournament and to threats from the UCCAM Confederacy, due to a rise in demand for a new jet fighter aircraft designed to perform High - G maneuvers and take on opponents head on. The previous base airframe was designed a long time before then, but required heavy amounts of attention and pilot skill to use. A specialised variant of the Yuuyake, nicknamed the Aisu, was put as a submission for the contest.
As the light of day started to sneak under the horizon once again, and the signal for the competitive round to start had been announced, a cherry blossom coloured figher dashed through the clouds. It did a sharp turn, its engines roaring as its afterburners came into view. In its sights was something to be feared of: An opponent so fierce and terrible it could down any contemporary fighter aircraft of comparable design, piloted by one of the most feared pilots in the UCCAM Confederacy. It possessed a front torch that could nearly blind oneself and had been rotated to face the fighter, lighting the way for AA forces to fire at it, as well as blinding the pilot. Not even the cherry blossomed Aisu could supposedly fight while blinded, let alone over enemy territory...
The Aisu didn't seem to stand a chance, as the intimidating opponent twisted and turned through the sky, but as they say...
What goes up must always come down...
The cherry blossom jet saw it make a turn for a head on pass, at speeds nearly faster than the rounds that would be shot themselves. Both planes had already deployed all their missiles, and it was down to a good old fashioned dogfight. The Aisu lined up as well, entering the dazzling beam the opponent created for it, the Aisu's fate depending on the sheer spread of the rounds it fired to create a firing cone large enough to protect it. The Aisu's pilot inside closed his eyes as he held on the trigger, hoping that his aircraft's guns could protect him.
When he or the opponent will make it out alive, however...
Only time will tell.
Fin
A pilot's point of view. Note the absence of a gunsight on AI controlled versions
Here at Joint Republican Aviation, functionality and safety are key. Missions have soon been stretching to over 16 hours long, calling for upgrades to the autopilot and ways of preventing accidental crashes.
The airframe is fitted with the revolutionary Fortune 3 AI Crash Prevention system which will override the aircraft's manual controls in order to forcefully orient and pull up when the aircraft reaches an altitude of under 1000m in order to prevent the aircraft from impacting the terrain.
Note that the Prototype Model uses an nearly identical avionic system.
This is primarily used in but not limited to AI combat where the AI may attempt skeptical maeuvers that may endanger the airframe, or prevent an unconscious pilot from risking losses to the aircraft.
An Aisu with its gear deployed
Do note that on takeoff it is recommended to disable AG8
, As the airframe will attempt to right and pitch more than 180°, causing it to turn in a spiral climb.
Similarly to the Prototype variant, this will not actually endanger the aircraft, but is not recommended. Also note that this is not a Boeing 737 airliner waiting for a free spot to land over Heathrow airport, nor would you probably enjoy being slightly dizzy.
Inputs and Controls:

AG8
- AI mode
Automatic
: Vertical thrust vectoring, when AG8 = False
Normal aircraft controls apply when AG8 is off and plane is above 1000m
Brake
: Airbrake
'FireGuns`:Armament
Throttle
: Afterburners activate at 50% and 80%
AltitudeAgl < 300:
- Flaps are automatically deployed
(Activate8 = 1) ? 0 : Pitch
- Leading Edge Slats will only input when AI mode is off, to help the primitive SP AI adjust to the aircraft.
Automatic Safety Speed Limiters:
AI [AG8]
: Aircraft top speed limited to 385m/s on AI mode. This is to help the maneuverability of the aircraft.
Input: Activate8 = 1 &TAS > 385
Main Airbrake
: Speed is reduced when airbrake is applied.
Input: Brake
Low Altitude speed limiter
: Below 6500m the highest speed the aircraft can reach is 550m/s. This is to stop the air resistance at low altitudes inflicting damage on the craft.
Input: AltitudeAgl < 6500 &TAS < 550
Turn rate speed limiters
: To prevent unusual behavior and stress on the airframe, the turn rate of the aircraft is limited to 447m/s (1000mph)
Input: Pitch < -0.75 &TAS > 447
andPitch > 0.75 &TAS > 447
Armament
Two Yellow Razor autocannons, with varying amounts of bullet spread to form a shotgun cone in order to increase the chance of hitting a target.
Old VS New
The Yuuyake Airframe is in fact a complete remaster from scratch of a Sakura airframe that was created last year. Here is a before and after comparison to show you what the old concept looked like
The JR JF4 Yuuyake 'Aisu' variant is the service production fighter version of the YF4. This is the version you will obtain if you choose to download this aircraft.
Note that the G forces exerted on a pilot inside will most likely be very high due to it being primarily designed for a combat tournament with a remarkably high turn rate and low wing loading
Not for Export
Unfortunately, due to the war between Yukikitsunekuni and the UCCAM Confederacy, exporting is prohibited to protect the highly classified avionics and to reduce the chance of defects to the enemy. However, selected countries such as those in the ENSU or United Worldbuilders may be permitted to lease a mercenary squadron or fighter wing under protection of the YKAF.

Hey y'all! This is the official completed airframe of my first ever aircraft to have a completely panelled airframe and, as well as my first plane to make extended use of Funky Trees.
- By all means please feel free to leave any feedback or design tips you may want to share! I am open to suggestions.
- I did make a seperate variant for the 4th July, however this is the actual airframe, in case you feel like you really want to mention any case of a duplicate
If you like Red, white and blue, here's a link to the 4th July special variant!
Also here's a video of it in action, if you would like to preview it.
Apologies, if my aircraft doesn't run well on your device. It is my first fully panelled airframe and tested on low physics for I lack the means to purchase a NASA Supercomputer and probably can't afford one. Tell me if you have any difficulties using it.
Thank you for your patience, and I hope you have a good day!
Sincerely,
I hope you enjoy your experience with this aircraft.

Fun fact! Yuuyake translates to Sunset in Japanese
cool its a boxy weeb plane
Imagine being a weeb @OwO

日本人ですか?
I like how there's elements of the F-22 Raptor and the F-3 Mitsubishi with the addition of canards, the part count is overkill for the tournament I guess but boii it does run smooth on max settings (at least for me)
Anyways point is
BRAVO I love the turn rate and the stability
[Considering what you've built, I think we all now know who the clear winner is if the tournament lmao]
Doot Doot here comes the Updoot
Oh, It's a beautiful plane.
how is it so maneuverable
This is one of those builds I spotlight because it's genuinely really good. Good job on that.
Also, congrats on silver.
Looks like you significantly improved from the old model! For this one, I would suggest some sort of custom landing gear. I know that landing gear design is boring, but it is also really useful. Also be sure to move the hind landing gear closer to the CoL.
.
Anyway, good work! My criticism is meant to be helpful.
Smart use of FT on an interesting airframe
