The M.74 was a heavy assault tank developed during the FCW. It never went to full production, instead only having limited numbers used in defensive roles. It was heavy, slow, and earlier variants were unreliable, but the armor kept the crew safe and the main gun could destroy any enemy tank fielded at the time.
The main gun of the M.74 is a 152mm cannon from surplus naval weaponry. A muzzle break and a new recoil absorber was designed to make the cannon safely recoil in the M.74.
