At the start of the Second World War, the P.11c was the backbone of Poland's Air Force. Nimble and in the hands of determined pilots, the P.11c proved to be surprisingly capable against the superior Bf 109. All the tenacity in the world wasn't enough, though, and eventually the P.11c's pilots were forced to leave their country and planes behind, bound for France.
