After a long period of development, Potat Industries Inc. present to you the PI-JF-Salamander-Mk2

FlyBy1

Description

Due to development in fighter technology and demand from the Salamander Mk1 users, Potat Industries Inc. started the development of the Salamander Mk2 under the Project Green Scales.
The main requirements for the Project Green Scales were the following
-Super sonic capabilities
-Great manoeuvrability
-Increased payload compared to the Salamander Mk1
-Carrier capabilities
-Longer range
-Improved avionics

Countermeasures

It was chosen to use variable geometry relatively early in the design process to reduce drag and help with the super sonic capabilities. Although it doesn't have a high impact on this aspect of the craft, it was chosen to keep it to help with the Carrier capabilities. A refuelling probe was added and the external fuel tanks were made bigger to extend range.

As a way to shorten the development time of any future variant or for the sake of research, 20 extra airframes were built and are being kept at various R&D test sites. No project involving these airframes have been started.

Technical Details

The Salamander is equipped with 4 PI-MAM-Eland-Mk1, 6 PI-MAS-Bison-Mk2, 4 PI-MAF-Bull-Mk1 and 6 PI-MMH-Buffalo-Mk2

Missiles

The PI-MAM-Eland-Mk1 is an air to air missile with simultaneous launch capabilities. It has a range of 10 km.
The PI-MAS-Bison-Mk2 is a semi active air to air missile. It has a range of 10 km and great agility
The PI-MAF-Bull-Mk1 is a long range, fire and forget air to air missile.
The PI-MMH-Buffalo-Mk2 is a fire and forget multirole missile. It was made to deal with ground targets but is still an effective air to air missile.

Cockpit

Ag1 opens the canopy, allowing the pilot to get in and out of the plane.
Ag2 engage the increased agility mode of the craft
Ag3 disengage the weapon safety
Be aware that the gun is unaffected by it
Ag4 opens the formation lights
Ag5 jettison the weapons
Ag6 send the wings behind
Ag7 triggers the ejection seat
Ag8 start off the engine

Service Celling 15 Km
Speeds taken with all missiles on and at an altitude of 100m above sea level
Max Speed 1083 Km/H
