Curtiss-Wright XP-55 'Ascender'

The is a replica of the 1943 Curtiss-Wright XP-55 Ascender fighter concept. Only 3 of these things were built and the project was cancelled during the flight-test stage. There is only one left in existance, as both the others crashed killing one pilot and causing the other to bail out seriously injuring the pilot. Like the original, this thing is a hot mess but it flies true.

They were not, and the wing tips were swept quite a bit more. The original aircraft was very difficult to fly as a result. I figured it should fly in-game so some minor changes were in order ;)

Color photos from that era are hard to come by. The last XP-55 in the Smithsonian is painted Army green.
The canards weren't tapered I don't think.
