M225E5 is the APC Variant of the 8-Wheel M225 Family designed by Estarian Mechanical Industries

The M225E5 was designed under the JLCS program to replace its predecessor, the designated Armored Personnel Carrier, the M331E2-M.

The aim of the JLCS (Joint Land Combat System) Program was to combine the various systems of the land forces (M5E1 M5E2, M331E2-M, M331E3) under a single platform. Within the scope of this program, 2 projects were started, CAPC (Common Armored Personnel Carrier) and CBT (Common Battle Tank). )

Although the CAPC and CBT Program started almost simultaneously in late 2000, the CBT Project was officially paused until early 2020, but was restarted with the RRA (Republic Rearmament Act) passed in 2020

The CAPC Project was continued to replace the aging M331 line.

Even though the EMI Prototype was chosen at the end of the project, the systems that were to be added were too large for the prototype, so the EMI Prototype, the M225X, remained in the prototype process for another 2 years.

Although all the desired systems (X42 Gunfire locator, Scutum-2 Active Protection System, Paladin-Line Armour, Stadia Battlefield Awareness System, Ruin-4 Electronic Jammer) could be placed on the M225 after 2 years, the M225, especially the M225E5 Variant, had become quite cramped, complicated and uncomfortable.

Even if the M225E5 enters service, it is expected to be replaced by the ELW (Enchanted Land Warfare) program, which started in 2020 thanks to the RRA.

Operation History

M225s were used frequently during the Arainq Occupation

M225E5s were generally used alongside M5E2s to carry and quickly drop Infantry Packs (the equivalent of a Squad in Estarian Land Forces), but as Estaria acquired more territory and settled further into the region, M225E5s were used to guard oil refineries, patrol captured villages and cities, and
It was also used to wage guerrilla warfare against UFA Militants

Thanks to systems such as APS systems or Gunshot Detectors, M225E5s protected many infantry from rocket launchers or sniper ambushes in Arainq's extraordinary combat conditions.

M225E5s are used by EPCUT (Estarian Police Civil Unrest Team,similar to Riot police), which is the sub-branch of the Estarian Police, and PSIO (Police Special Intervention and Operations,similar to SWAT), in limited numbers.

The main weapon of the M225E5s operating under EPCUT, the UWS system using 7.62x51 NEDI Ammunition, and the left-side heavy machine gun using more powerful .50 BMG bullets, were dismantled and only the .50 Caliber T5M32-M machine gun controlled by the infantry remained.

APS and electronic attack-counterattack systems were removed and the M225E5s were painted Black and White, the designated police color scheme determined by the Ministry of Metropolitan Security.

The use of M225E5s and a very limited number of M5E1s (only 6) by EPCUT and the police's increasingly heavy weapons have increased the discussions on Police Militarization.

M225E5s are again used in limited numbers by the Estarian Gendarmerie to patrol Tarchan-dominated areas, but this time without dismantling any of the systems.

M225E5s are finally being used again by the Army Civil Guards without dismantling any subsystems.
