Welcome to The Dog Gliding Challenge!
A brief summary of this is you, the designer must build a glider that can fight other gliders in a dogfight, or rather dog-gliding!
The four parts painted in color (not the blue one) will aid you on this.
Rules:
- No Xml or Ft, you can't fidget with the code. The only exceptions are for decor parts, like insignia's and what not, those you can set weight and drag to 0
- You can only use this desired engine, but you can have more than one if you wish.
- You may increase/decrease prop size and power without the help of xml or Ft.
- You are only allowed a maximum of 5 liters or 1.3 gallons worth of fuel (Blue colored part)
- You must at least strap 1 red-colored part (aka Gyroscope) which will help with the 'system' and 1 green-colored part (aka Weight) to bring you to 750m.
- The yellow-colored part (aka Small rotator) will help with the 'system.' You must put this on any elevator you have (and wings if you want). It is up to you as a designer how you orientate this. Use the invert button if it doesn't work out.
- Only 1 minigun or 2 wing guns.
- Part limit is 150 parts, I play on mobile sorry guys!
How it works (Funky trees)
The coding is all basically a catapult on an airplane. I was learning how to code when this challenge came up in my head.
Gyroscope: clamp01(AltitudeAgl < 260)
Propellor: clamp01(AltitudeAgl < 250)
Rotator: clamp01 (AltitudeAgl < 240)
Detacher: clamp01(AltitudeAgl < 750)
Points:
Out of 100:
If it works: -/5
Uses all systems efficiently -/5
Looks: -/30
Dog glide: -/50
Lore (if you can make some sort of lore): -/10
All designs are due on the 23rd of September!
The winner gets 14 upvotes:
Every working design gets 1
will be putting up a small tutorial later!

@UnspankleSP @V Go and watch the tutorial video! XML is not allowed as people can make everything weightless, and you can't base this off of real-life as this didn't exist. The prop and the system are basically a catapult that shoots the glider up in the air!
@everyone I might just repost this, this is solely on my part because of the long writing and lack of time. I'll hold off though, but it doesn't seem to be as popular?
@everyone here is a quick tutorial!

Here are the 2 planes on the main screen. Download them both and play it on the dogfight menu. You'll get a rough understanding of how each part works! Remember that looks are important as well, these planes are not what your planes will look like, this is a definite 10/30

@chibikitsune oh yes you can, thanks for asking!
@FearlessAce Ah, for things like sweep wings and fully moving control surfaces like making the hinge moving under certain conditions like throttle or g force (applied in the way it is on the Tomcat) and the tail fins on the Su27 or canards like on the Typhoon
@chibikitsune no you can't change it. What for may I ask?
Are we allowed to use rotators with ft inputs at all
@FearlessAce trusting me is the last thing you should do
@V oh, I guess yes, you can set it to 0 drag and 0 weight if you want, nothing else, I trust you
@FearlessAce no I mean can I add my own
@V It's not decorations, it's part of the catapulting system!
Can you add unpowered engines (activation group 7 or horsepower set to zero) for things like decoration and stuff?
@BeastHunter Yeah
Thanks for the answers mate.@FearlessAce
@FearlessAce No, I mean outside of SP.
@BeastHunter that's alright, prioritize that first.
@FearlessAce This looks complicated, but I might be able to do it in a few weeks as I have stuff going on right now.
@BeastHunter here's the challenge if you're still interested!
Hi, I have a few questions, why is there fuel? Is this supposed to be a glider or a aircraft with propulsion system. Why is there no XML allowed. My final questions are, why is there a gyroscope, it’s inactive and why is there a rotator and what system is it helping.
im in
@FearlessAce Oh, ok.
@JustWingIt I'm just doing the tutorial and stuff, you'll see. ;)
I'm so confused. I make a glider with guns and only 1.3 gallons of fuel for a prop to get it moving. Whats all the "system" and code stuff about?
@FearlessAce I was ;)
