CA-47P/M33
The CA-47P is a common name for the EA-47B in Paternian service. Designated M33, the rifles were originally parts illicitly smuggled out of the Santiago Arsenal and Quito Arsenal and delivered to the SNAS to be assembled. In total, 75,000 rifles made its way to their army this way in the late stages of the Paternian Civil War. However, due to the logistical diffuclties within the SNAS, the rifles remained largely in warehouses to be captured by the Paternian Army. The few that did make it to the field were issued sporadically and suffered from shortages in ammunition and proper magazines, and had little impact on Operation Downfall, the Paternian invasion of the SNAS. Initially, the weapons were identified as Chinese, but later identified as Hispanic. Paternian modifications included new magazines, shortened barrels, and the installation of a Paternian-style drum rear sight. The rifles were then issued to forces in Southern Mexico, as the relatively controllable automatic fire and superior cover penetration abilities made it desirable in jungle environments.
