This craft may be launched from water or runway. This design is "rotor powered" all lift comes from the angle & speed of the lift blades. A conventional engine on-board supplies forward motion. VTOL slider controls rotor pitch. Launch is easy if the following setups are used. WATER LAUNCH: retact gear, Set VTOL slider to the 2nd bar from the top. Hold stick full back and apply full power. Steer with the stick, level out and move VTOL slider down between the 2nd and middle bar. LAND LAUNCH: follow Water Launch settings, but retract gear when you are airborne. Enjoy flying!

50.4k StingrayUser friendly is subjective; ever succeed in flying a new Osprey design - I have other designs, want me to repost them? @Lucky139.7 years ago

50.4k StingrayUnderstood. I've mounted rotors on top of COM (easy) and I get a good temporary ground hover, that's all some folks seek. To simulate tilting the helos forward, with working swash plates, I inch the COM forward a bit. After liftoff the rotors are flattened by VTOL adjustment and the contraption almost acts like a winged plane. BTW if gear is left extended, flight behavior gets erratic. @WWIIPlaneBuilder9.7 years ago

471 Lucky13Uploaded one that is a titch more user friendly @Stingray9.7 years ago

50.4k StingrayCorrect. I have yet to find an SP STOL/VTOL that doesn't require constant pilot input. Neither helos nor the Osprey attempts are as user-friendly as a simple Cessna. @WWIIPlaneBuilder @Lucky139.7 years ago
