Movie Idea/Treatment:

The "Tiptoppers" is a bomber squad filled with war move hero tropes (though pick a diverse group of actors potraying aspects of the war many folks don't know about. Characters should, of course, have some aggressive or somber but not grating foibles) that were first formed in a pub called the "Tip-Top".

We follow lads and ladies through their recruiting into a secret experimental bomber unit that is given a fair amount of independence of choosing their targets and assignments.

Our non-human supporting character is their medium bomber.
The Tiptoppers come to call it the Vicky Bumblebee, with one particuarly character calling it the Bumble-butt until they come to appricipate it. Its design should be real enough, but with some fictional elements. Drama component: The mid-rear gunners have no access to the main cockpit...someone gets trapped? Someone has to crawl out mid-flgiht!!!

After a few daring and exciting scenes in their prototype bomber, our heroes encounter a secret plot of something terrible between Western Allies and Stalinists that clearly threatens civilians as "necessary sacrifices".

The Tiptoppers go rogue supporting the civilian in danger and are burned by their own government. They are forced to fight three sides at once in an intense action scene the continuously ramps up. End on pyrrhic or heroic victory depending on test screening or metrics.

  • Attn Casting: Actors willing to "die in character"
  • Casting: Mostly younger actors. New trope, which works for WWII, pick an actor that is late 20's not quite 30 as the "gristle old veteran" Should score Gen Z and Y.
  • Use Live action with digital after-effects, minimize green screen if possible.
  • Director: Spielberg? Maybe even Emmerich? Taika Waititi for something daring.
  • Budget: $100-150 m. add 70m for Spielberg

Attributes to @SnowFlake for the bomb sight.
