Re size the offset can be one solution, but you also can use the attribute scale.
Look in the XML file of this aircraft and you have an example :)
The result is same but you can grab it like this ;) For the attribute scale, 1 is the default value. 0.5 is half of the default value and 2 the double. Very simple but useful :)
