Joegalan Lagedhe (Varian truk pemadam kebakaran)
Joegalan Lagedhe is a 4x4 truck designed by Industri Berat Joegalan. The vehicle was used by civilian youths to work, such as quarries, constructions, and others.
Development
In the late 1964, the Indonesian youths needed a new 4x4 truck in order to use for multipurpose works.
Industri Berat Joegalan, submitted the design for the prototype construction of a new 4x4 truck at the factory in Surabaya. The youths approved the vehicle, and the construction of the first prototype has begun in a vehicle factory.
The first prototype truck was finished and went into test drive. Not too long, the development was completed, and the production began in 1965.
Use by Dinas Pemadam Kebakaran dan Penyelamatan
Dinas Pemadam Kebakaran dan Penyelamatan purchased 200 Joegalan Lagedhes to be used for fire department service. On November 1969, the first vehicle was delivered to Dinas Pemadam Kebakaran dan Penyelamatan, with the last vehicle delivered on 1977.
A new fire truck was intended to replace the old and obsolete Joegalan Lagedhe, but they continued to remain in service with Dinas Pemadam Kebakaran dan Penyelamatan today.
