The XPco I-1 (F-112 in the USA) is a fighter-interceptor designed by XPco in 1957 for the Yeager-Bandit Republic and United States Air Force. It has similar specifications to the EE Lightning, although there are major differences like the addition of a tailwheel, an off-center pitot, and a strictly unique missile pylon, which tilts 45° when a target is selected in the air.
The powerplant is a sole XPco E-2, which provides a maximum speed of approximately 350 knots and a maximum altitude of around 75,000 feet, making it one of the highest-flying interceptors in the world for its time.

AG1 & LandingGear - Fold wings
AG2 - Arresting hook
AG3 - Drop Aux. fuel tanks
LandingGear - Landing gear

  • Custom LG

  • Good flight experience

  • Carrier capability

  • Auxillary fuel tanks

  • Unique missile pylon design

This was a fun build to make, I’ve never built an interceptor before on SimplePlanes so this is a first for me. Flies pretty nicely, and can be used to escort aircraft with sizes up to a large-sized airliner.
