This little biplane was operated from aircraft carriers. The difference was that these aircraft carriers were in the sky; they were the Akron-class airships, each capable of carrying up to five of these fighter/reconnaissance aircraft. The planes themselves had a top speed of 176mph (this plane is a LITTLE faster) and were launched and recovered from a under-slung trapeze, using the hook mounted on the upper wing. Unlike this aircraft the real version had fixed landing gear, synchronised guns and an external fuel tank (represented here by the bomb, a weapon that was not fitted to the original aircraft). This model is in the colours of an aircraft of the USS Macon.
