BS34D/GB40-D “Alpha”
Hello!
The infamous BS34 has made a comeback! The BS34 is my most historic plane with the most importance. It is the first plane I made to have acquired an upvote. The BS34A and B were the early models. The C had a faulty ejection seat. The D model is fitted with twice the amount of countermeasures, a new paint job, and things like improved lift and flaps. All earlier models had a garbage cockpit. I decided to change it. The cockpit now is more detailed than ever before! This is also my entry for the Under 250 Parts Challenge by @LJAircraftmanufacturer (pls say my entry is good!!)
Lore
The BS34 series of multi role fighter aircraft started out in an arms agreement between Poland, Italy, and Spain. Designed by Guardian Aerospace in Italy, Assembled by CASA in Spain, and tested by PZL Mielec in Poland, The BS34 was an international collaboration. Research first began in early May of 1999. The first prototype of the BS34A took to the skies in February, 2003. Different problems had to be solved until the second prototype was ready. This second prototype was the improved version of the BS34A, and left the ground in October, 2004. Production of the BS34A began in late 2005. The BS34B started out in 2013, and the BS34C began in 2023. The BS34 claimed its first air-to-air kill on August 6th, 2010, after being primarily used for ground combat and strikes. The kill was claimed by the Italian Air Force (ITAF) on a Libyan Air Force Dassault Mirage F1. The BS34 would be awarded with an 87:9 kill-to-loss ratio as of January 21, 2024.
