This is Koeringder K/LC-166 Mighty Hauler, a STOL cargo plane with working cargo hold and vehicle locking mechanism using magnets. WIP. Have fun!
*Magnet may not work in combat missions.
*In camouflage scheme, all the colors used are in the color palette of this build.
May take a little practice & luck to get the vehicles inside the cargo hold.

LC-166 "Mighty Hauler" STOL airlifter
Design of LC-166 Mighty Hauler was inspired by rather rare Coanda effect STOL cargo planes with over-the-wing engine layout, such as YC-14 and An-12. (Correction, I meant An-72, not 12) Oh and Kawasaki/NAL Asuka! I always forget Asuka. (Should also mention the four engined plane from Patlabor movie 1. Anyone else noticed that it's moving backwards in one cut?)
I decided the dimension of the plane based on those of M103, as it was the tank I had when I started building this. You wouldn't want to air drop a M103 in real life, but hey, this is simple planes. I don't remember if I built this or M113 first.
Auto aim for the machine guns are based on FT by Aweyer26.

About maglocks
Magnet behavior in the game seems kinda weird, as it produces "pull" force that even lifts the object, if the power is too strong. I'm not sure what determines its behavior (I suspect it also has to do with the mass of the parts it's connected/pulling, or that of the whole objects it's connected/pulling) but if you load the tank/APC too far forward in the cargo hold, plane can float (may not happen with this version).
I've tried multiple ways to connect magnets to the vehicle. None of them really worked.
Magnet on the floor
I wanted to use this one, as I thought it could prevent the pull force floaty thing, but this one failed to catch the hull of the vehicles too often.
Magnet on a shock (on the floor of the plane)
This was an attempt to remedy the previous one, but shock part just wasn't strong enough to keep the vehicles in place. Did work ok with lighter ones, but it still had the tendency to "let go" of the vehicle when I rolled the plane.
*Forgot to increase the magnet power of M113s. 4 is too weak.
Sat on this for too long. Built this last year, and kinda forgot about it as I tried to improve stuff on it. I've seen some vehicle carriers on the site, but haven't seen a cargo plane with a vehicle it can load and offload (perhaps I didn't look hard enough). Hope this inspires people to make something cool.
If we, for example, made a good auto-land capable autopilot, and combine that with a cargo plane like this, we can have a ferry plane that you can ride to other islands. Wouldn't that be wonderful.

-Added ceiling and guide rails to the cargo bay.
Now the cargo bay can be (almost) fully sealed. No longer can the tank fall out of the roof of the jet!

No problem, it's VTOL down when AG1 is on in current version, and VTOL down when AG1 off in the previous version

Parachute deploys when you fire weapons named "something Chute" (they are cannons). They'll detach when the ammo goes to 2 or something.
I've made some pretty significant improvements to the jet, so re-download the thing if you like:)
It was nicely designed, but I have no idea about how to activate the parachutes

They should activate when the vehicle is deactivated, or their engine is on idle. Magnet power is too weak on the two APCs though, that's probably why they are falling off. If you know how to use Overload, increase their magnet power by 5 and see if that fixes it.
Only one gets stuck to the magnet most of the time and the rest fall out

Thanks, and I might do that (cargo jet alone) later. You can save the plane by itself by first removing the cockpit part from the M103 tank (it's hidden inside the hull I think), and then disconnecting the tank & APCs from the detacher.

If you want to use the plane with other vehicles, save the plane as a sub-assembly, and simply add it to the vehicle you want to use it with.
Just make sure you have the plane and vehicle connected via detacher, though, otherwise only the vehicle with primary cockpit will be able to move.

It was easier to edit the vehicles that way, why they're outside the plane.
As for tanks, you have to first press corresponding activation groups to activate each vehicle, Number 2 for the tank, Number 5 & 6 for the APCs. Check out the instructions for rest of the instructions (you can open that in designer or in-flight, from option menu).
Also, detacher won't get in the way so don't worry about it, it doesn't have collision.
