The àguila MK-1 was the first SPAA to see service in the Guinea-Congo war. It was used by the Guineans to shoot down and destroy jets, but it proved defenceless to T-54s and T-55s and was retired in 1988 and replaced by the àguila MK-2, The àguila MK-1 carried a ZS series gun for SPAA measures and when retired it was used for target practice, now 300 àguila MK-1s remain an 100 of them are still drivable and can move under their own power
