M.Corp Ship Sorrow is a third fast attack craft of Switchblade class. It is currently assigned to 13th Coastal Defense Flotilla.

Class overview (Switchblade A class)

Switchblade A is a class of fast anti-submarine fast attack craft with a potent array of armament. It is primarily an anti-submarine ship, although it has shown its ability as patrol corvette and as a short-range surface-to-surface combatant.

Hull

Hulls of these ships are made out of carbon fiber. This decreases weight of the vessel and increases its strength. Vital parts such as engines, weapons and bridge are armored against 20mm rounds. There is also a steel belt at the waterline stopping rounds of up to 23mm AP.

Armament

Main armament of Switchblade A class consists of two pairs of torpedo tubes extending from the hull in a switchblade-like fashion (earning the class a name). They are loaded with either sonar-homing or wire-guided torpedoes, and have two full reloads ready. Further anti-submarine capability is provided by two ASRL-2 (Anti-Submarine Rocket Launcher - 2) slaved to the sonar, firing 245mm rocket-propelled depth charges that are sonar-guided when in the water. ASRL-2 can also be manually aimed at surface targets and used for shore bombardment.

Main surface warfare armament of Switchblade A class comes in a form of a 76mm autocannon with adjustable rate of fire of between fifty and two hundred and fifty rounds per minute. It can be manually aimed with assistance from radar rangefinder, or slaved to the radar for automatic targeting of low-flying aircraft. It carries forty ready-to-fire rounds and two full reloads.
Defensive weapons of these ships consists of two 23mm guns in remotely controlled mounts, capable of manual or radar targeting. There are also fifteen short-range SAMs serving as a missile-defense system.

Propulsion

Switchblade ships use COGAG configuration. That allows very efficient cruising on two smaller gas turbines, while being able to reach very high speed on both small and large turbines. It has a total power output of 20,000hp (15,000kW).
Power from the turbines is transferred via gearboxes to two water jets with thrust vectoring nozzles, giving ships of this class unmatched maneuverability.

Electronics

Equipment of Switchblade A class ships consists of a bow-mounted and side-scan sonars, giving a panoramic image of the depths. It can also tow an additional sonar from the crane.
Rear ramp, while originally intended for naval mines, is usually used for sonobuoys.
Main radar is surface-focused multirole search radar that can detect ships at up to 180km. It can also detect aircraft at between 20 and 110km, depending on altitude. Second radar, illuminator, is fed from it and can guide close-in defense missiles or aim the gun.
Switchblade A ships have unusually large and potent electronic warfare suit for their size. It can spy on communications, jam radars, and distract missiles.

Notes:

• Don't use full trim (turning) at speed. It is meant for maneuvering inside the harbor. Realistically, the ship would only use half of its turning power while sailing at some serious speed.

• This ship was inspired by Parchim-class corvettes of the navy of Russian Federation. Idea was to make a stealth version of it. I think it got a bit out of hand.
