Introduced in late 1941, the P30B was the improved version of the outgoing P30 fighter aircraft model. With a more powerful V16 engine, six .50 caliber machine guns, improved cockpit avionics and better maneuverability, the P30B quickly replaced the P30A in almost all frontline squadrons. The aircraft would continue to serve until 1952.
