The X-69 Valkyrie was the first prototype of what would become the Grasshopper. Using the twin rotor concept from previous designs, the Vakyrie was fairly stable but mechanically complex. The design was modified to use stacked rotors after a loose bolt sent 1 rotor blade into the others and... it basically self destructed. Forward engine on 1, this is really a Grasshopper with a different configuration
