Limited slip differential test

3,912 AtomicCyclone  2.2 years ago

My idea is to have one engine per wheel, and to cut off throttle if one engine exceeds the other engine's RPM + some rpm margin to allow a bit of slip, seems to be working but needs improvement, might be useful for drift builds.

NEED FEEDBACK, the code is in the variables section (RPML= Left rpm ecc...) this car has slowly become a testbed for my ft codes.

Feel free to use and improve this code, just let me know if you improve it, I want to provide a full race driving assist package. To this moment I made a anti-oversteering aid, an anti-understeering aid, and a limited slip differential

Maybe you could get some active aero working by getting the camber angle - the downforce and pre-camber to calculate (somehow) the suspention lean and add winglets with motors fed that info (again somehow) to compensate that and in return add more downforce and make turns more stable with less g forces

@P7VDS I think I will add it to a proper drift car, as soon as I have some free time.

Great stuff! Makes the rear really controlable! This'd work for either more controlled drifting or grip in low/middle speed corners i assume. Are you gonna do an update for this car?
