The Chinese Boeing 707
The Shanghai Y-10 is based on an American Boeing 707 built by SADRI (Shanghai Aircraft Design and Research Institute) developed in the 1970s. The prototype uses the JT3D-7 turbofan engines due to unavailability of the intended WS-8 turbofan engines, it made it's first flight on 26 September 1980 and later retired after the project was cancelled on 1983.
