The Nakajima Ki-44 Shoki (?? Zhong Kui?) was a single-seat, single-engine fighter used by the Imperial Japanese Army Air Service during World War II. Its official designation in the Japanese Army was Single-seat Army Fighter Type 2 Model 1A Shoki (???????), and its code name for the Allies was “Tojo”. It made its first flight in August 1940 and entered service in 1942.
